guess what? Yesterday I found Maccas in Bangalore! They had one in Koromangala forum, which is a huge shopping center. I was so happy cos I was craving for a double cheese burger...MMmmmm. but nope they had none! the whole menu consisted of vege burgers and chicken burgers :( but I had a delish fillet O' fish. its so bad, Ive been craving for junk food for the past week. My stomach feels so weak. Its been rejecting Indian food. I havent eaten Indian food for days now. When I think of sambar, idly, dosa or korma my stomach seriously churns. Even at the thought of it. besides the odd items Ive craved for like lasaga and meat pies (one of my friends ordered lasagna in Pizza Corner and after he finished it we both noticed a sign in the restaurant that said No Pork No Beef...lols I asked him what meat did they put in it...he said he didnt know.. haha. it was whitish according to him...chicken?! in lasagna....umm). I reallyyy want japanese or vietnamese food...basically anything 'bland'... relative to indian food where there is too much masala. i dont even leap at chinese food anymore because the chinese food here is not reallly chinese. it is indian chinese with its excess of spices.

I spent the weekend just chilling. On Sunday Thomas and I went to Sumungali and gave the kids a surprise visit. . We were quite shocked to find 49 kids indoors. We have never been to Sumungali on the weekend. Have I described Sumungali? There is literally a big room (with poor lighting) that houses 49 kids. At night they will lay down the mattresses (which were a recent donation actually...I dont know how they slept before !). They arent allowed to roam outside. How depressing. I mean to be stuck indoors over the weekend. When they are outside, it is when they are washing clothes on the concrete slabs. They were delighted when they saw us because it meant we could take the kids to the hill which is nearby. THe kids arent allowed on the hill unless volunteers take them and sort of supervise them. And the aunties that take care of the kids dont want to do that. So we played on the hill for the afternoon. While we were playing there was this older kid who carried this whip-like rope and approached one of the Sumungali kids. Thomas asked one of our kids who he was and we were informed that the guy was asking for rupees. Apparently that kid would do this everyday! So Thomas went up to the guy and asked him to leave. THat guy started yelling at our kids in Kannada (the local language) and was apparently threatening them...grr
